  • 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp water

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, bourbon, garlic, and brown sugar. Add chicken pieces and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated chicken (discard marinade) and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together reserved marinade with chicken broth and cornstarch until smooth. Pour into the skillet and simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
